Interprotect

All of the Interprotect is on below the chine. Three 4 litre packs. Had a wee bit left over so put one coat on the transom. Coppercoat next.

First Paint

The first coat of Interprotect primer below the waterline was rolled on today. It went well enough. The coarse glass on the flat part of the bottom needs filling more so will do that before proceeding with more coats prior to rolling on the Coppercoat antifouling.
I plan to spray the remaining Interprotect primer coats.

Moving On - Almost

Construction of the keel is finished. The Greenheart hardwood strip is bolted down with hanger bolts (Lag bolts) and the resin runs are all sanded. The whole boat is sanded except for the top chine. Tomorrow I will fill little nicks and dings over the whole job and sand them fair the next day. After that I will be starting to paint the bottom to the waterline with Interprotect primer in readiness for antifoul paint.

Keel

Leel is coved to the hull and the coving is glassed with heavy biaxial tape.
Now fitting the Greenheart sacrificial keel strip and protection for rudder and prop. Still have to fibreglass the keel. Awaiting bolts / screws for the sacrificial strip. Want to resin  them into the keel before glassing it.

Still Making Gudgeons

There is a lot of work in a rudder. This next rudder gudgeon will also be the steering arm through the transom for the hydraulic ram to attach to.
The first photo shows the bush set up in the mould. The square plates are just mould bulkheads and are removed when the resin is set. The wax paper is used to stop the glass sticking to the rudder.

The above photo shows the bottom rudder gudgeon also. It still needs to be correctly positioned then glued and glassed in place.
