An Hours Work

An Hours Work. Hand faring by eye. Well sort of by eye. Might need to be longer and finer. Certainly better than square. The stack of planks are all fitted ready to be glued up for the remainder of the keel. then I will do the same faring with that and round up the wood around the shaft log.
Jobs...... jobs....... moving on.

Keel Work

I have constructed the piece of deadwood that goes between the shaft and the hull. It is on the floor. Needs a bit of faring. Now working on the remainder. This timber in the photo is just trimmed to fit and stacked. Still needs to be glued and fared.
Did not expect otherwise but none the less was very happy when the shaft just slid easily through all the bearings in the log. There is a little less prop hull clearance than I would have preferred but still have 17% of the diameter clearance. Better than many vessels it seems.

Sanding on Hold

Sanding on Hold. It can wait until the shaft log and keel is installed.
Here the log is in and fitted with Controse bearings. Needs glue then I will construct the keel around it.

Spindrift In A White Skirt

Very happy that I am able to do full drops of glass. Saves a lot of work. It was easy to smooth it out over the chines using a big paint brush. (See DIY Wood Boat)
