Galley Bench & Bunk Backrests

Liking the galley bench that Melva varnished. The stove will hang on gimbals just forward of the bench. There will be a double sink unit above the galley doors and a bin to port of that.

The bunk backrests, although only 120mm high, are very comfortable at 15 degrees.

Only a change of colour

Finally started painting. What you see in the photos is some of the first coat of Interprotect.

Certainly starting to look different. Humid weather is a bit of a hold up with painting the hull. May have to move back into the cabin and continue there.

Rudder Feedback for the Autopilot

Too wet to paint yesterday so spent the day fitting the rudder feedback unit to the tiller.
It is a bit more difficult to do with a transom hung rudder as the feedback unit can't be mounted parallel to the rudder post so had to invent the wheel.
Tiller centred

Turning to port

Cover box

Completed with the transom door also fitted

Hatches

Engine room hatch fitted. Final placement happens after the engine is lowered in. It will fit through the opening with the hatch surround out but not with it in.
The helm overhead hatch is fitted and glassed awaiting painting.

Please include your name if you make a  comment. Often I have no idea who made the comment.

Sanding Fibreglass

It was a friend who, while building his yacht, made the statement "There is always more sanding." Wrong! There is much more than that!

Glassing, Sanding

Nothing to show with photos. All looks the same except that the well-deck, cabin top and sides are glassed with 290gsm cloth.
The cabin front and deck boxes still need to be glassed. I have used a roll and run out. Can't get any more at the moment with this covid bug roaming. If anyone had 6m or more spare I am happy to buy.
Meanwhile, there is always sanding,,, and more sanding.

Some change

Welldeck covered, Cabin top complete with eyebrow and cover boards / drainage and helm hatch fitted.
Boom crutch and washboards for the helm hatch fit after glassing the top and sides. Before glassing I need to cut the rebates for the windows.
Currently coving the welldeck extremities, finishing the deck drains and fitting partners around the welldeck hatch. The hatch is a Goyot 600mm square.
