The New Spindrift- Cladding the Cabin

The New Spindrift- Cladding the Cabin It was an easy lift for this 3.6m sheet of 9mm meranti. Just need the right gear.

Doors

The forward and aft doors are fitted. Now they can be put away until painting is finished.

Forward Cabin Bulkhead And Door

Dry fit of the Bulkhead and door to the well-deck and forward.

The aft bulkhead is now glued in also.

Need more hardwood for the cabin top beams with four more to make.

Main Cabin Started

Temporary posts are to hold up the, what will be a post-less veranda.

These beams are to be half lapped to the upright frames. Intermediate beams will be made after gluing up this framework and the cabin beam shelf is inserted and glued up.

With the help of a bit of designer input we came up with this. Thanks Gary. I added a straight edge so that I can view the result better.

Main Cabin

Just thinking. Playing around with some rough pine to see what the cabin will look like.
7 degrees looks good  for the cabin sides as per plan.

Main Cabin Sole Progress

I started laying the cabin sole ply on Thursday. Quite happy with the progress.
I need lift rings for the centre three panels (From the stern) and to lift all and Everdure the framing and ply.
After that start on the Cabin sides and top.
Galley to port. Helm on the Starboard side.
